Mount Kilimanjaro is the highest free-standing mountain in the world. Rising 5,895 m from the East African plains, it is capped by Uhuru Peak – meaning “freedom” in Swahili. Standing on this frosty peak puts you on the Roof of Africa, where you can gaze down on the clouds, and up across acres of blue sky.
Known as the Whisky Route, Machame follows a quieter path to the summit and offers a more authentic experience than the busier ‘Coca Cola’ Marangu Route. This adventure will take you from the bustling town of Moshi, through rain forests, over moorland & alpine desert, to the eternal snow which caps this iconic mountain.
Our programme is designed to give you the best chance of reaching the summit safely. We will provide a carefully selected menu, highly experienced and qualified guides, and an itinerary that follows the principles of “walk high, sleep low” to allow for proper acclimatisation.Nothing can match the feeling of reaching the summit with your team and watching the sun rise over the East African plains. This trip truly is a must for anyone with a sense of adventure!
