One recent afternoon in Morocco, a fifty-nine-year-old former Royal Marine Commando named Phil Asher walked me into a desolate valley in the Atlas Mountains, shook my hand, and abandoned me.
Setting up a luxury safari camp in the Agafay desert Morocco for 16 high end international clients for a 24-hour desert survival adventure. Camel riding, desert survival skills and challenges as well as a night operation. Finished off with a traditional Moroccan dinner, Gnawa musicians under the stars and fire eaters.
The following morning breakfast whilst watching the sunrise over the desert, then an extraction in high powered buggies out of the desert to the Royal Mansour hotel Marrakech. High end luxury doesn’t come any better than this…
It’s been a busy month for epic Adventures in Morocco. We have run a High Atlas Challenge event in Morocco for a UK based personal fitness company https://elitetogether.com where epic took a team into the high Atlas mountains for a multi activity long weekend.
The elite team completed a series of challenges starting at 2600mtrs trekking through the stunning High Atlas Mountains, Mountain biking along some of the best trails Morocco has to offer.
In the evening the elite team set up survival shelters and survived the night…
The following morning the team had a fire lighting challenge followed by a high wire obstacle course, zip wires and suspended bridges.
The afternoon, the team set off on quad Bikes into the stunning Agafay desert, navigating across the desert to an end point where they are picked up and driven to Marrakech hotel then out for a celebratory meal looking over the Jemaa el-Fnaa- A weekend lived to the full!
This beautiful short from Stefan Forster shows how much of Greenland’s ice is breaking up into chunks, climate change’s invisible hand cleaving big pieces of ice from once endless glaciers. Nevertheless, even as its glaciers crumble and recede, Greenland’s palaces of ice are as mesmerizing as ever.

Family (survival Adventure)
We’ve just returned from a family survival adventure in beautiful Northumberland. The whole family had a great time and we certainly learned a lot – from how to put up a hammock (and sleep in it!), to lighting and transporting fires, as well as knot tying and traversing a river. It’s amazing what Phil managed to fit into just a couple of days – as well as cooking great food on open fires – keeping our boys’ enormous appetites truly satisfied!
We wanted an opportunity to do something different, as a family and “to get away from it all” and this certainly ticked all the boxes. Phil’s huge experience was evident and he was really keen to ensure we got the very most out of our days away. From planning the trip, right through to packing up, his attention to detail and enthusiasm ensured we were able to enjoy a really special time together. And we’ve just received a video of our adventure too…. Thanks very much Phil! Until the next time…..
